How plans are billed, renewed and cancelled, in plain words. These are the terms you agree to when you start a plan.
What these terms cover
These terms cover the plans Designs by Josh bills on a schedule: website plans, the SEO plan and app care. They explain how a plan is paid for, how it renews, how to cancel it, and what happens to your domain and content. One-off work, like a website build, a logo or an app, is covered by its own quote or invoice. Designs by Josh is run by Joshua Lovelace in The Woodlands, Texas.
Your plan and its minimum term
Each plan has a minimum term, shown on the pricing page and again before you pay: 6 months for a Starter site and 12 months for a Business site. A plan set up with you directly shows its term on its payment page. After the minimum term, the plan carries on month to month until you cancel it.
Payments
Plans are paid in advance for each billing period, either automatically through Stripe or by invoice. Automatic payments are taken on the same day each period, starting on the day you sign up, and a receipt is emailed after each one. Stripe holds your card or bank details. Designs by Josh never sees or stores them.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your client portal, or by replying to any email from Designs by Josh. There is no cancellation fee.
- During the minimum term, your plan stays active and is billed as usual until the term ends, then stops.
- After the minimum term, your plan ends when the period you have already paid for runs out, and nothing more is charged.
Periods already paid for are not refunded in part. You get an email confirming the date your plan ends.
If a payment fails
Stripe tries a failed payment again over the following days, and you get an email asking you to check your card. If a payment is still unpaid after 14 days, your website may be paused, showing a short notice with a link to pay, until the balance is paid. Your domain, your content and your site are all kept while it is paused. If a payment is still unpaid after 60 days, your plan may be ended. Before anything is deleted, you are offered a copy of your site and its content.
Your domain
Your domain name is yours. It is never held back, including when a plan ends or a payment is late. Ask, and it is moved to you or to anyone you choose.
Your content
The words, photos, logos and other material you provide stay yours. By sending them, you confirm you have the right to use them on your site.
When a plan ends
When a plan ends, hosting and care for the site stop. Before it ends, you can ask for a copy of your site's content and files.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change. The version you agreed to is recorded when you sign up, and if a change affects a plan you already have, you are emailed about it before it applies.
